Sales Promotion, June 2003 - Novartis Consumer Health and wireless marketing specialists Flytxt teamed up to launch an innovative text message service to mark the launch of Aller-eze nasal spray and eye drops for hayfever sufferers.

The Pollen Count Alert text message service enables sufferers to receive personalised, up-to-date, regular pollen count information direct to their mobile phones. Those who register will receive pollen alerts by 7am on weekdays and 10am during weekends, on days when the pollen count is particularly high in their geographic location - together with tips to help manage hayfever. The service was offered free for a month for the first 5,000 people to sign up and then a charge of 10p will be made for each message. To register, hayfever sufferers send a text of their postcode from their mobile phone to 07781 480206. The service runs until July 3 and alerts commence when the levels of grass pollen becomes high - usually at the end of May.
