Hachette announces mobile push
Friday, 25 June 2004

Mad.co.uk - Hachette Filipacchi has announced that it is to team up with mobile technology services provider, Flytxt, in a deal that will see the company launch a campaign across nine of the publisher's magazines. The campaign, which will focus on Hachette's youth orientated titles, will aim to build up brand awareness, whilst enlarging mobile databases, increasing reader loyalty, and creating new revenue streams.

Flytxt will also explore ways of creating interaction between the magazine titles and readers in between publication dates. In addition, the company will also be looking to implement loyalty schemes, mobile cover mounts and mobile content delivery.

Speaking on the new deal, commercial director at Flytxt, Dave Barker, said: "This client win has cemented Flytxt's position as the trusted mobile partner of the media industry. We believe that we have an unrivalled knowledge of the media space, with proven mobile programmes and established, long-term relationships with clients."

Marketing manager at Hachette Filipacchi UK, Helen Maxfield, said: "Mobile penetration is highest amongst our core target audiences and after an extensive pitch process we are delighted to announce the appointment of Flytxt to work across our portfolio of nine magazine brands." Maxfield added that the popularity of mobile phones with young demographics made mobile phones an ideal platform to launch a new campaign. Hachette Filipacchi is one of the world's biggest consumer magazine publishers, with 245 titles including Sugar, ELLEgirl and tvhits!.
