Time Inc appoints Flytxt to deliver SMS campaigns
Thursday, 21 April 2005

Precision Marketing - New York: Flytxt, the mobile marketing technology and services provider, has signed a two-year deal with publishing house Time Inc to develop and implement integrated SMS programmes.

Flytxt will begin the project by rolling out campaigns for People and Teen People magazines. These will initially targeting readers only, with a view to expanding to include individuals from wider databases at a later stage.

The provider believes the progression from online to SMS marketing will have a significant impact on the UK.

Carsten Boers, co-founder and chief executive of Flytxt, comments: "There is a growing understanding in the US of how mobile marketing can help drive incremental revenues, increase audience-brand proximity, and extend brand communication into the personal sphere."

Mobile communications industry analyst Vikrant Gandi says: "Mobile penetration in the US has eclipsed Internet use. A quarter of adults, and more than 50 per cent of teenage mobile owners, are now considered to be text-savvy."
