Tuesday, 27 June 2006

Mad.co.uk - British Airways is sponsoring EuroPride 06, Europe’s largest gay and lesbian cultural celebration which takes place in London this Saturday (1 July). The airline has struck a deal with Flytxt and ActiveMedia Technology to deliver mobile tickets for entry to the BA Chill Out Lounge in Leicester Square during the event.

EuroPride has also partnered with Virgin Mobile, which is sponsoring the cabaret stage, and Gaydar Radio, the gay and lesbian radio station.

Jayne O’Brien, British Airways’ head of global brand and marketing communications, said: “We are very pleased to be sponsoring EuroPride London 06. Working with ActiveMedia and Flytxt we are able to offer a convenient mobile ticketing system.

“We will be inviting people to enter the British Airways Chill Out Lounge via tickets delivered direct to their mobile phone. This is the sort of cutting edge service which befits the cosmopolitan audience we are targeting through our affiliation with EuroPride 2006.”

Last week British Airways’ commercial director Martin George was suspended while the airline is investigated by UK and US competition regulators over ticket prices and fuel charges.
