Flytxt, the wireless marketing specialist, today
announced its first customers in the pub sector - the regional Sports
Cafés in London, Birmingham and Cardiff and also the Punch Pub Company.
Flytxt is running a text message marketing campaign to promote
Carlsberg lager around two England football matches. Enabled by Flytxt,
and working alongside media agency the Sportsagency.net, Sports Café
and Punch Pub Company will launch the first interactive wireless
marketing campaign for the pub sector that aims to attract new
customers.
The campaign kicks off on 25th May and will span across pubs in central London, the Midlands and the North West of England and is likely to roll out across the rest of the UK over the summer.
The SMS campaign launches on 25th May to coincide with England's friendly vs. Mexico. The second half of the campaign will coincide with England's World Cup qualifier vs. Greece on 6th June. The day before the first match, pub goers will be invited to send a text message - 'Carl' - to a number displayed on a promotional banner outside participating Sports Cafes and Punch Pubs. All three Sports Cafes and up to 22 Punch Pubs will be involved in the campaign from across the Midlands and the North West. The first 50 people to sign up will be sent a unique SMS voucher, which will be redeemable against a pint of Carlsberg lager at a either the Sports Café or a Punch Pub on the 25th May. This voucher will also carry a number, which will identify where the customer saw the banner, allowing Sports Café and Punch Pubs to track the success of the campaign. The next 50 people will receive a text message inviting them to try again on the 6th June. |
