The move was motivated by five communication's decision to integrate
this increasingly significant medium into its sales promotion, branding

Mixmag today announced that it has become the most recent of
Emap's publications to launch its own SMS club. Flytxt, Emap's
preferred supplier across all of its brands, is masterminding the
campaign mechanics. Targeting its 635,000 readership of 18-24 year old,
largely male club goers, Mixmag is opening SMS as a channel via which
its readers can send comments, pose questions to the editor, receive up
to date clubbing news as well as offers and freebies. The club will aim
to build an ongoing relationship with its readers in order to reward
loyalty and create a buzz around the monthly publication. |

Carling, the UK's number one beer, today released
details of its new Text'n'Win campaign. The SMS promotion, developed by
KLP Euro RSCG, one of Europe's leading Marketing Communications
Agencies, and Flytxt, the wireless marketing expert, will primarily aim
to drive sales. The promotion, which kicked off at the end of August,
gives Carling drinkers the opportunity to win tickets to an exclusive
Manic Street Preachers concert, to be performed at St David's Hall,
Cardiff - a venue the band had previously only been able to busk
outside - before they became famous. |

Feel Good (IFG) today announced that it has teamed up with wireless
marketing expert Flytxt, to open SMS as a channel to readers of Viz and
Bizarre magazines, for the first time. Appealing very specifically to
the magazine's adult male audience, Viz readers will be able to send in
their own lude and crude 'profanisaurus definitions' and sign up to
receive the 'best of - profanisaurus definitions'. In addition, Viz and
Bizarre readers can text in their general comments and questions to the
editor. Both services will be available to readers from the beginning
of September. |
