'SMS' grows up as flytxt embarks on the first wireless campaign for one of Europe's largest mutual fund managers. Flytxt, the wireless marketing expert, today announced
that it will provide DWS, the leading European Mutual Fund Manager and
part of Deustche Bank Group, with two innovative customer relationship
management campaigns over SMS. These campaigns are using the wireless
medium to build and manage relationships with its customers and
provides substantial cost savings to DWS.
Flytxt is deploying two wireless marketing campaigns for DWS. The first offers a new value-added service for customers, whereby they can receive receipts for mutual fund transactions, via SMS, to their mobile phones, rather than receiving a paper confirmation. Flytxt has also been trialling an additional wireless campaign aimed at establishing an instant interactive dialogue between DWS and its reseller agents via a game where users had to guess assets under management. This proved to be extremely successful and DWS will be looking to continue similar campaigns in the future. DWS's customers will benefit from the first service by having instant confirmation of transactions on their mutual funds and it will reduce the amount of paper they have to keep on their DWS mutual fund accounts. DWS benefits from this new service as it simplifies administration procedures. For example, Flytxt is enabling DWS to be certain if and when a confirmation message has actually reached the DWS customer, which is important for DWS' internal procedures. Sending out confirmation messages by SMS is also 3-5x cheaper than sending out paper mail.
Carsten Boers, co-founder and VP Sales and Marketing of Flytxt commented:
"We are extremely excited about enabling DWS to be one of the first to explore the capabilities of the wireless medium in their sector. The campaign is delivering value to DWS customers and simultaneously it will be a cost saving for DWS. Another component that makes this campaign very interesting is the average age of DWS's customer, which at over 50, demonstrates that the wireless space, is now expanding into age groups outside of the traditional teenage market. The campaign demonstrates the broad appeal of our offering across many industry sectors including publishing and broadcasting with Flytxt's other customers, EMAP and Channel 5."
DWS is Flytxt's first large customer announcement in the financial services sector. Flytxt was launched in November last year with an extremely successful campaign around EMAP's Smash Hits title. Since then, Flytxt has also run a number of interactive campaigns, such as for Channel 5, where it effectively promoted its Movie Bonanza via SMS. |
