National Conference on Communications
The National Conference on Communications (NCC-2013) is a premier conference in India in the area of Telecommunications, Networking, Signal Processing, and Information Technology. This was the nineteenth edition of the event which was held at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi on February 15-17, 2013.
The paper, a joint effort of Flytxt R&D Team and IIT Delhi EE Department, is co-authored by Jobin Wilson, Prof. Santanu Chaudhury of IIT, Delhi and Mr. Shyju Thomas and was presented at this prestigious event. The paper proposes a model by which mobile operators can recommend best fit recharge packs to subscribers. The recommendation is done by applying a collaborative analytics technique that identifies packs that are closer to each user based on their usage behavior and spending pattern. Once this short listing is done, a pack is recommended to any user in two ways. One way is to offer first relevant pack or a fair pack can be offered looking at the historic spending pattern of users. The paper also presented some real world data results showing the effectiveness of this best fit model as compared to commonly used rule based generic segmented pack recommendation model.
